Is the cs24 louder than FP5?
For the money which is best?

Gary Celvenger did a test on the Fury vs. CS24 and the CS24 was louder by only a decibal or two, I think.

Since they are about the same price, FX5 and the CS24, the CS24 wins easily by virtue of a better remote. I think they sound better, once you get something covering the aluminum horn.

The biggest difference in the two is the features the FX5 has over the CS24.

The FX5 will do much more than the CS24 but like Tom says the CS24 has the newer improved remote. You would need to carry and use a TOA speaker with the FX5 to equal its volume and quality of sound. Go to Foxpro's website and read the different features and sound holding capabilities.

I have an FX5 and will probably get a CS24 sometime in the future. I'd rather use my modified 416b over the FX5. Both the FX5 and the CS24 are great ecallers so it's more about how you hunt and what you're looking for in a caller. Nikonut

Edit: Boy did I get that all twisted around...

The FURY has more features than the CS24 and the CS24 being based off the FURY electronics has more features than the FX5. The FX5 has duo amplifiers and twin speakers but uses 16bit sounds and both the FURY and the CS24 use 24bit sound quality. Sorry for the confusion!

What exactly can the FX5 do that the CS 24 can't? Other than having 2 different speakers I can't remember anything special.

I think maybe Nikon was thinking of the Fury.

You are right Jeff I was thinking of the Fury...

The FX5 has duo amplifiers, other than that the CS24 has more features including the TX500 remote. The CS24 is based off the Fury electronics and holds more sounds and is 24bit sound quality, while the FX5 only holds 200 sounds and is 16bit sound quality.

Thanks for keeping me straight on this stuff! I just checked to make sure and mine is the FX5! LOL

I love the CS 24......I don't have a Fury, but I have a Scorpion, an FX 5 and a CS 24 and an older WT w/ the big horn...

I carry the CS24 as I prefer the sounds, features, and size. I am VERY impressd with it. Love the remote...
